Coconut Water’s Many Health Benefits

Green coconuts

I grew up in El Salvador and coconuts are everywhere. It is part of our way of  life to drink coconut water to cool down or quench our thirst or have coconut meat for a healthy snack. I realize now, I took for granted growing up in this environment where coconuts are available all year round. My mother would give us coconut water when we were sick, especially when we had high temperature. These healing traditions are passed from one generation to the next. Some people don’t  know the whole scientific meaning or benefits that coconut water has in their bodies, for the locals it is enough to say ” This is good for you, drink up”

More and more we hear about the many health benefits of coconut oil, water and milk. In the article below Dr. Mercola explains the difference between coconut water, milk and the abundance of health benefits this fruit has.
